While the process of losing weight works very well when you take it one step at a time and at a measured pace, you still have to put in some work to get the best from your efforts. However, that doesn't stop people from seeking out the easiest ways of losing that weight that require the least amount of work on their own behalf.
Most of the time, this will result in a less than desirable outcome, although when you work smart instead of just lazy you can still get some good results. Here's how.
First of all, when you think about lazy weight loss, the image conjured up in your mind is one of relaxing on a sofa, watching TV and munching on pizza, or relaxing on a sun bed by the pool drinking a tall cold drink. This is one image you are going to have to blot out of your thoughts and replace it with something a little more energetic, but it doesn't have to be too energetic. You see there are lazy ways to lose weight as opposed to being just lazy!
Lose Weight with a Healthy Diet
The laziest way to lose excess pounds is to simply choose a diet that restricts the amount of calories you consume every day and stick to it. The diet doesn't have to be boring or plain, it can be varied and include a lot of different foods as long as the set calorie count is respected and adhered to. But if losing weight were that simple and easy to do, why doesn't everyone do it?
Most people who go on calorie controlled diets don't stick to them for long enough to see any benefits, is the short answer. This happens for a number of reasons, but it is mainly because they get bored with the diet, or they get tempted to eat something they see that is not on the diet sheet and that usually contains way more calories than they are allowed to eat in a day. In other words, they break their own diets through cheating or giving in to temptation, which is just a nice way of saying they cheated.
More is therefore needed to be done if a person is to successfully lose the extra pounds, especially if they choose the most the lazy way of doing it.
Lose Weight with Exercise
Exercising is generally considered to be hard work and avoided at all costs by the lazy person. But exercise doesn't have to be hard work and can actually be enjoyable and even fun! That's right, fun!
It's all down to the kind of exercise that you choose to do. You can choose to sweat it out in a gym, which is what most people imagine as the most effective weight loss exercise regime. But that is also the one method that is widely avoided because it is hard work. So if you don't want to do that much work to lose weight, choose something else!
There are enjoyable ways to exercise that don't even feel like exercise. Take walking, for instance. You can walk for half an hour or so a day and that will give you a real boost and be far more beneficial than sitting around on a sofa all day. You need to walk at a fairly brisk pace to make it effective, but that comes with practice and the more you do it, the longer you will find you will want to walk for, making it even more beneficial.
Swimming is Great Exercise
Or you can try swimming. Swimming is a great exercise method because you can exercise all the muscles in your body while enjoying yourself at the same time.
Plan to go swimming with some friends and the enjoyment factor goes through the roof and it becomes fun to do! The same goes for moderately active team sports that you can enjoy with some friends. This kind of thing gets you out of the house and into a situation where you are active while enjoying a social gathering of friends which can also be a lot of fun while helping you to lose body mass without it even feeling like you're losing weight.
Now combine the two. Eating a healthy, balanced and varied diet that is moderate in calories and omits all junk and processed food and doing some daily fun activity all go together to boost your metabolism so that you lose weight without it feeling like that's what you are doing, making it a pretty lazy way to go about it a the end of the day!
